James W. (Jim) Allen has joined Fulcher Hagler LLP as an attorney working in the practice area of Employment Law. Jim was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and lived in Augusta before going to law school, so he has returned to his home area.

Jim served originally as a lieutenant in the Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, working in New England and in Washington State as a defense attorney and later as the legal officer for Bremerton Naval Hospital. In 1988, upon leaving the service, Jim went to work for Fisher & Phillips, a national employment law firm representing employers. In 1991, Jim returned to Washington State and served as an employment law attorney for Millar Nash, a major firm in Washington and Oregon. Jim has now returned to Augusta, with 24 years of employment law experience under his belt.

In the course of his career, Jim has primarily represented employers. He has appeared before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Merit System Protection Board. He has handled litigation matters, primarily discrimination, non-compete, and wage claims, in federal and state courts in Georgia, Alabama, Washington, Alaska, California, and New York. He has extensive experience in class actions, on both the plaintiff and defense side, and has been a frequent speaker at seminars, conferences, and Continuing Legal Education meetings.

Jim was a contributing author to the Fair Labor Standards Act manual, published by the American Bar Association.

Fulcher Hagler is proud to add Jim to its employment law team, representing employers throughout the CSRA.
